Menstrual cycles sometimes result in a series of unpleasant symptoms leading up to your time. The most common complications, such as mild cramping and nausea, include premenstrual syndrome (PMS), but the symptoms generally go away when your period starts.
Other, more severe menstrual issues, however, can also occur. Too heavy or too light menstruation, or the complete absence of a cycle, can indicate that there are other problems that lead to an irregular menstrual cycle.
