Suction and evacuation is a surgical procedure that dilates or opens the cervix and uses vacuum or suction to extract tissue from the uterus or, in other words, 'evacuate' it. Suction Aspiration or Vacuum Aspiration are other names for Suction and Evacuation. This is a procedure that is usually used through the cervix to extract uterine contents from the uterus. It may be used as a substitute for induced abortion, after miscarriage, or as a sampling tool for endometrial biopsies.
