Normal Delivery

The first stage of the normal childbirth process requires contractions that help dilate, soften and spread the cervix so that it is possible to deliver the infant. This stage is the longest and may last for up to 13 hours during the first delivery of a woman and for subsequent deliveries for around 7-8 hours.
